2021 Nissan Maxima: SR vs Platinum | Cathedral City, CA
Thinking about getting a 2021 Maxima, but you’re not exactly sure which trim to get? We’ve got you covered. Today, we’ll be comparing the top two trims for the 2021 Nissan Maxima, the SR and Platinum. Each trim brings something distinct to the table, though they have a lot in common.
Below, we’ve listed out all the differences between the 2021 Nissan Maxima mid-tier SR trim and the penultimate Platinum trim. We’ve included details on the shared features for both trims, as well as the features that differentiate the two. Which model is right for you?
Both the SR and Platinum trims inherit the features from the SV trim (or upgraded versions thereof, like premium upholstery). These inherited features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, an 8-inch touchscreen, a Wi-Fi hotspot, GPS-linked navigation, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and more. Safety-wise, they both inherit forward collision warning, forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, driver attention monitoring, rear door alert, automatic high beams, and a rearview camera.
The SR trim adds a lot of great features, including Alcantara leather upholstery, a dual-panel panoramic moonroof, an 11-speaker Bose stereo system, a surround-view parking camera system, front and rear parking sensors, a heated steering wheel, paddle shifters, a sport-tuned suspension, LED fog lights, and two rear-row USB ports.
The Platinum trim costs under $100 more than the SV trim and adds only two features: rain-sensing automatic wipers and a power rear-window sunshade. A trim-exclusive 40th Anniversary Edition appearance package is available, though, which adds red leather upholstery with 40th Anniversary stitching, 40th Anniversary badging, and black and gray exterior accents.
