There are five 2021 Nissan Altima trims- S, SV, SR, SL, and Platinum. Every model comes standard with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that puts out 188 horses and 180 lb-ft of torque for FWD models and 182 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque for AWD models. However, the SV trim has an available 2.0-liter VC-Turbo turbo-four that pumps out 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque (with premium fuel). This engine variant is only available with FWD. Both engines are paired with the Xtronic CVT, though the SR VC-Turbo model also gets paddle shifters. The 2021 Nissan Altima has an EPA estimate of up to 28-MPG City and 39-MPG Highway.
Starting with the SV trim, each 2021 Altima has the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite, which includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear automatic braking, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, and high beam assist. Other available driver assistive features include adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, traffic sign recognition, a surround-view parking camera system, and the semi-autonomous ProPilot Assist driving mode.
Every 2021 Altima model is smartphone friendly. Standard features include the NissanConnect infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, at least two USB ports, and an 8-inch touchscreen to control it all from. Available upgrades include things like HD radio and a premium nine-speaker Bose audio system.
