What Causes Your Steering Wheel to Rumble When Braking?

Why Does My Car Shake When Braking?

People are always concerned about their cars. Every little bump and jostle from the road will slowly start to wear down your car. It doesn’t seem like much at first, but you won’t notice it until it is too late sometimes.

One problem that is easily noticeable is the shaking and rumbling that can happen in some cars. When you are exiting the highway, does your car shake and rumble as you slow down? Why does that happen? Is it a big problem? We’ll share what we have figured out about these problems.

So, what causes this sort of problem and how can we fix it? If your car and steering wheel shake and rumble when you’re decelerating from highway speeds, then it is likely warped or unevenly worn brake discs. It can happen to the front of back brake motors, but if it is causing your steering wheel to shake then it is likely your front discs.

How do your brake discs wear down unevenly? There are a few different ways, but one of the most common ones is if a car sits outside without moving for too long. A significant amount of rain or moisture could also cause rust to build up on the disc which will affect its health. It could also be the result of excessive heat in larger vehicles like SUVs and trucks.
