Max Single-Charge Range

The max 2020 Leaf range depends on the model, as different models have different batteries. The regular Leaf models have a 40 kWh battery with a max range of 149 miles. This is excellent for city drivers, though it might seem a little restrictive for commuters. The Leaf Plus features a 60 kWh battery, bumping the range up over 70 miles to a maximum of 226 miles. Leaf and Leaf Plus models are all-electric, so the EPA rates them with MPGe (miles per gallon of gasoline-equivalent). The Leaf gets 111-combined MPGe while the Leaf Plus gets 108-combined MPGe. With the DC fast-charging ability, you can charge both the Leaf and Leaf Plus to 80% power in around 40 minutes.

Comprehensive Safety Suite

Like most Nissan vehicles, the 2020 Nissan Leaf features the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite. That means that every Leaf and Leaf Plus model comes with blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and front and rear automatic emergency braking. Lane departure warning with lane-keep assist, rear door alert, and a rearview camera are also standard. Additional safety features like adaptive cruise control, a surround-view parking camera system, driver attention monitoring, and the proprietary Nissan ProPilot Assist are available too.
