Programming Nissan HomeLink Garage Door Opener

Whether your garage door uses rolling code or fixed code, the initial steps stay the same. To program the HomeLink opener, you’ll need the current garage door remote and possibly a step ladder.

  1. Hold the garage door remote within 6” of the HomeLink buttons in your Nissan
  2. Press and hold the HomeLink button you want to use and the open button on your garage door remote simultaneously
  3. Continue holding both buttons on each device until the HomeLink light flashes
  4. HomeLink light will either turn solid or flash rapidly

If HomeLink Light is Solid

If the HomeLink light turns solid, you have a fixed code garage door. To complete the programming process:

  1. Press the HomeLink button you are trying to program twice
  2. If the garage door opens or closes, programming was successful

If HomeLink Light Flashes

If the HomeLink light started to flash, you have a rolling code garage door. To finish the programming process:

  1. Press the HomeLink button you are trying to program twice
  2. Exit your Nissan and press your garage door motor’s Learn/Smart button once
  3. Return to your Nissan within 30 seconds
  4. Press the HomeLink button you are programming three times
  5. If the garage door opens or closes, programming was successful
