2022 Ariya: Single Charge Range, Drivetrain, and More

Nissan recently released some concrete specs on the all-new 2022 Nissan Ariya crossover EV slated to come out in the second half of 2021. Here at Palm Springs Nissan in Cathedral City, CA, we’re pretty excited about the new reveal. Nissan has revealed some very important info that buyers want.

For instance, we now know how far the 2022 Ariya can go on a single charge. Let’s take a look.

Single Charge Range

The 2022 Nissan Ariya has a single charge range of approximately 300 miles (based on preliminary in-house estimations of the long-range 2WD model). This estimate puts the 2022 Ariya within a few miles of the popular Tesla Model Y and well above the newly released VW ID.4 250-mile range. Charging time for the 2022 Ariya will vary based on numerous factors like charger type, battery pack size, and more. The 2022 Ariya comes with one of two battery packs: a 63 kWh one or a long-range 87 kWh one. See the full 2022 Ariya press release here.

Drivetrain and Driving

The 2022 Nissan Ariya will be available in both RWD and AWD configurations. The AWD version features a new all-wheel control technology called e-4ORCE. This system is derived from the ATTESA E-TS torque split system found in the Nissan GT-R supercar. The 2022 Ariya will also feature the e-Pedal, popularized on the Nissan Leaf. For those unfamiliar, the e-Pedal allows drivers to launch, accelerate, and decelerate their vehicle using on the accelerator pedal. It’s a favorite feature for many EV and hybrid owners.
