The Most Exciting Feature of the 2018 Nissan Armada? A Mirror.

Nissan Armada

The 2018 Nissan Armada is making waves on Palm Springs Nissan dealer lots thanks to its superior design, awesome powertrain options and advanced security features. But the component that has Nissan fans most excited might surprise you: Folks are clamoring just to take a look at the new Nissan Armada’s rear view mirror.

Sounds silly, right? Well, this is no ordinary mirror.

The 2018 Nissan Armada’s Intelligent Rear View Mirror (I-RVM) uses a high-resolution camera mounted to the rear of the vehicle to project an image onto an LCD monitor built into the mirror. The video image allows drivers to see what’s behind them without trying to see around interior obstacles like cargo and rear headrests.

The Intelligent Rear View Mirror system also helps improve visibility in low-light conditions, dramatically reduces glare, and offers drivers an expanded field of view thanks to the camera’s wide angle lens.

Even if your Nissan Armada’s cargo area is piled high with luggage or groceries and you’ve got the kids or a pet in your back seat, you’ll be able to see clearly behind the car using the I-RVM system. You can even sync the mirror to your own custom needs–the option exists to use the I-RVM’s settings to sync the mirror to your garage door opener, control the brightness of the video image and more.

Of course, the traditional rear view mirror is still there. All drivers have to do is flip a switch located on the bottom of the mirror to access either the traditional rearview mirror system or the new Intelligent Rear View Mirror.

Naturally, the groundbreaking I-RVM system isn’t all that makes the 2018 Nissan Armada special. The SUV comes standard with a whole range of incredible, futuristic tech features, including NissanConnect Services powered by SiriusXM, an 8-inch multi-touch display, HD Radio, SiriusXM Travel Link with three years of trial access, Enhanced Voice Recognition, a Hands-Free Text Messaging Assistant, and plenty of additional USB ports to keep the whole family happy.

The new Armada is, after all, a family vehicle. The SUV seats up to 8 passengers in its ultra-roomy, comfortable interior. The Armada offers passenger 40 inches of second row headroom and 41 inches of second row legroom so you can be guaranteed that your daily commute will be comfortable no matter how large the car pool fam is.

Front seat passengers will enjoy 8-way power-adjustable bucket seats with heating and cooling. Heated second row seats are standard on certain Armada models. Ask a Nissan dealer near you for more information.

Nissan Pathfinder vs. Toyota Highlander: Which SUV Comes Out On Top?

Nissan Pathfinder

Today’s SUV market is practically bursting at the seams with options–everything from your sleek, sophisticated luxury trophy cars to your rugged, ultra-spacious people-movers is available on dealer lots. But out of all the popular high-end SUV models available today, the Toyota Highlander and the Nissan Pathfinder are the two ultimate top contenders.

Both vehicles offer luxury, practicality, plenty of tech upgrades and great powertrain options. But when you put the Pathfinder and the Highlander side by side, there’s just no question which SUV comes out on top.

The Nissan Pathfinder is the SUV to beat.

Although the Highlander is described by Toyota as “sleek and refined,” we’re confident that you can find a car on any Nissan dealer lot that could give the Highlander a run for its money. Frankly, the Highlander has nothing on the Pathfinder’s gorgeous, expertly-designed exterior. With a strong sense of adventure, character and presence, the Pathfinder was made to stand out.

And inside, the Pathfinder just keeps on shining thanks to its three rows of ample seating, full rear hatch and hyper-functional driver amenities. The vehicle comes with a standard 8.0-inch touchscreen monitor to provide drivers with intuitive access to a variety of vehicle systems and settings like the standard NissanConnect with Voice Recognition for audio, Bluetooth and vehicle information.

Although the Highlander comes with a respectable range of driver-assist and safety technology, the Pathfinder once again has it beat. The 2019 Nissan Pathfinder, for example, comes with standard Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), an innovative Rear Door Alert (RDA) system, standard Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), an available Remote Engine Start function, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

And when it comes to what’s under the hood, we think you’ll agree that the Nissan Pathfinder once again steals first place.

The 2019 Nissan Pathfinder comes with an advanced 3.5-liter V6 engine with Nissan’s Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG) system to provide better wide-open throttle performance and improved fuel economy and emissions performance. The new engine generates 284 horsepower and 259 lb.-ft. of torque and has an EPA mileage rating of 20 mpg city, 27 mpg highway and 23 mpg combined for two-wheel drive models.

But we haven’t even told you the best part yet: The new Pathfinder has a class-leading maximum towing capacity of 6,000 pounds. That means you can tow two-axle recreational trailers without even breaking a sweat. We’d like to see the Highlander try that. (Spoiler alert: The 2018 Toyota Highlander’s towing capacity maxes out at 5,000 pounds.)

Visit us at Palm Springs Nissan to learn more about the Nissan Pathfinder. Still not convinced that it’s the better option over the Toyota Highlander? No problem–our staff of Nissan nerds can do this all day long.

Nissan Titan XD Surfcamp

The Nissan Titan truck that you know and love is coming your way in a special edition. The Titan Surfcamp began as the Titan Midnight Edition, but it was transformed to be ready for the beach. Learn more of the details of this vehicle below.

Autoblog describes the Nissan Titan Surfcamp, “Based on a factory-fresh, Mississippi-built Titan XD with the 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel, the Surfcamp is more or less a beach bungalow on wheels. It comes with a variety of boards, including surfboards and a paddleboard. To get all the sand and sea salt off at the end of the day, there’s a solar-powered shower!”

As this vehicle is called the Surfcamp, there is also a place to spend the night. The Nissan Titan Surfcamp has a roof-mounted tent where you can relax after a day full of adventures at the beach. This vehicle has more than just fun and games, though. The Nissan Titan Surfcamp also has the power and ability to take on surfside adventures in the sand, with some great performance and capability features.

According to Motor Trend, the Surfcamp has some great updates. Motor Trend tells us, “The Titan Surfcamp starts out as a 2018 Titan XD Midnight Edition, brought to life through a wildly comprehensive and diverse range of upgrades and accessories. A meaty set of Nitto Ridge Grappler tires measuring 35/12.5/17 at all four corners are designed for bounding effortlessly through sand, while an ICON lift kit boosts ground clearance by 3 inches over the Titan’s standard ride height.”

On the inside of the Titan Surfcamp, you can also find some unique features. This truck has wetsuit-inspired seat covers and heavy-duty floor mats to contain the sand from the beach.

The Nissan Titan Surfcamp is clearly ready to drive through the sand and spend all day having adventures. Recently, Nissan has been creating some adventure-themed vehicles to celebrate the active lifestyle and those customers that like adventure.

If you are looking to upgrade to a vehicle like the Titan XD Surfcamp, you can do so at Palm Springs Nissan. Palm Springs Nissan is a Nissan dealer near you, and we have a great selection of new and used cars, trucks, and SUVs.
